Our Gardens of the World series returns with snowy Canada. The North American country boasts an array of unique ecosystems. Mainly these ecosystems include forests, wetlands, grasslands, tundra, lakes, rivers, and coastal areas.

Singapore has laboured intensely to transform its Garden City into a City within a Garden. This vision was created by former, Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew in the 1960s. Prime Minister Yew sought to soften the look of Singapore's dense concrete environment and improve the quality of life within the city. Thus the beginning of Singapore's journey to becoming one of the greenest countries in the world!

Ireland has an amazing array of flora and fauna which is the reason we chose to feature it in our Gardens of the World series. Some of the most beautiful gardens, of varying sizes are found on this charming island. Beginning with the National Botanical Gardens, an eighteenth century arboretum, to secret gardens surrounding Dublin Buildings, the list is endless!

South Africa boasts an untamed beauty like no other. Each province offers a unique variety of beautiful flowers and rare plants. The Northern Cape is well known for its diamonds buried deep within the earth and more off its coastline.

Switzerland, the land of fine chocolate! It’s also the land of fine cheese, the alps, and it’s famous neutral status but did you know that Switzerland also has some of the most beautiful scenery and exquisite gardens? In fact, there is even a “Gardens of Switzerland” website aimed at raising awareness and promoting the beauty of some of their natural flora.

The English landscape is overflowing with magnificent gardens. This is not a surprise considering that the English, at all levels of society, have long been keen gardeners. From allotments to extravagant royal gardens, England has it all. In fact, it was hard to narrow it down to just three of the best!

Japan is known worldwide for its beautiful culture and traditional arts. Just the word “Japan” conjures up images of tea ceremonies, flowing calligraphy, and descriptive poetry. The country also has a legacy of distinctive gardens, so unique in their beauty that they have been recreated all over the world.

What is perhaps less well known, is that France is home to some of the most beautiful gardens in the world.
