MEASURE
Prepare your measuring tools: You will need a metal measuring tape and a pen or pencil.
Decide where you want to mount the blinds: Determine whether you want to install the blinds inside the window frame or outside the wall above the window.
Inside Mount:
- Measure the width: Measure the inside width of the window frame at the top, middle, and bottom. Take the smallest measurement of the three. This is the width you will use for your blinds.
- Measure the height: Measure the inside height of the window frame on the left, centre, and right side. Take the longest measurement of the three. This is the height you will use for your blinds.
- The minimum required depth is 7.5 cm.
Outside Mount:
- Measure the width: Measure the width of the area you want to cover with the blinds. If you prefer the blinds to extend beyond the window frame, add the desired overlap on each side.
- Measure the height: Measure the height of the area you want to cover with the blinds. If you prefer the blinds to extend above and below the window frame, add the desired overlap.
Record your measurements: Note down the width and height measurements for your blinds. Write them down clearly so that you can refer to them accurately when ordering or purchasing the blinds.
